What to Expect on a 3D2N Desaru Trip from Singapore
Desaru is one of those destinations that most Singaporeans have heard of but never actually been to. It sounds familiar. It comes up in conversation. And then somehow, the weekend passes and you end up in Batam again.
If that sounds like you, this post is for you.
We have been running the 3D2N Desaru package for a while now, and the most common thing guests tell us after coming back is some version of the same sentence: "I didn't expect it to be this good."
So here is exactly what to expect — day by day, activity by activity — so you can stop wondering and start planning.
Getting There
Desaru is located on the southeastern tip of Johor, Malaysia, roughly 100km from Singapore. By road via the Tuas Second Link, you are looking at approximately two hours depending on traffic and border crossing times.
If you are booking through THK Tour, your two-way land transfer is fully included. We pick you up in Singapore, handle the logistics, and drop you directly at Lotus Beach Resort. You bring nothing but your bag and your appetite.

Day 1 — Arrival and Resort Life
Your first day is intentionally simple. You arrive, you check in, and you switch off.
Lotus Beach Resort is your base for the entire trip. The moment you check in, your wristband unlocks full access to SPLASH Water Park, the swimming pool, the gym, and the private beach. There is no waiting, no figuring out what to do, and no separate ticketing. You walk in and everything is already yours.
Day 1 is free and easy by design. After the drive from Singapore, the best thing you can do is drop your bags, change into your swimwear, and spend the afternoon exactly how a holiday should start.

Day 2 — The Day That Makes the Trip
This is the day guests talk about when they get home. It runs from 10:30 AM through to 9:00 PM and covers more ground than most people expect from a single day.
The morning starts at Desaru Fruit Farm — one of the most underrated agro-tourism experiences in the region. Your guide takes you through tropical orchards filled with exotic fruits you will not find in any Singapore supermarket. After the farm walk, the outdoor petting zoo opens up: camels, ostriches, goats, and more. Then comes the indoor petting session — raccoons, alpacas, and miniature horses, all within arm's reach. This is the part of the trip that floods your camera roll.
After lunch — included, with fresh tropical fruits and local dishes — you head to the ATV station for a 20-minute ride through farm trails. It is beginner-friendly, genuinely exhilarating, and the activity most guests say they did not expect to enjoy as much as they did.
The afternoon is yours back at the resort. Pool, beach, nap — your choice.
At 6:00 PM, you are picked up for dinner at Nelayan Restaurant by the water. Butter crab, grilled prawns, fresh catch of the day. It is a proper Malaysian seafood feast and it is fully included in your package.

Then at 7:30 PM, you board a boat.
The river goes dark. The mangroves close in. And then the trees start to glow — thousands of fireflies flickering in perfect synchrony along the riverbank. It is one of the most extraordinary natural experiences in Southeast Asia, and most Singaporeans have no idea it exists two hours from home.
You return to the resort at 9:00 PM. You will sleep well.
Day 3 — Free and Easy, Then Home
Your final morning belongs to you. One last swim. A quiet breakfast by the pool. Or just sitting on the beach watching the water before the drive back.
We transfer you home to Singapore the same way you came — door to door, no logistics on your end.

Is It Worth It?
Three days. Two nights. A water park, a fruit farm, a petting zoo, an ATV ride, a seafood dinner, and a fireflies cruise — all included, all guided, all from SGD 358 per person.
The question is not really whether Desaru is worth it.
The question is why you have not booked it yet.
