The Medan 6D5N Tour takes you from the rainforests of Bukit Lawang to the volcanic highlands of Berastagi, up to the crater rim of an active volcano at sunrise, and finally across the water to Samosir Island, the cultural heart of the Batak people, sitting in the middle of the largest volcanic lake in the world.
 
This is not a sightseeing-only tour. You will trek, hike, tube down a jungle river, and have dinner with a traditional Batak dance performance in front of you. Every main meal is covered. Private transport runs throughout. Your guide handles everything on the ground so you just show up and experience it.
 
THE ITINERARY
Day 1
Airport to Bukit Lawang Arrive at Kualanamu International Airport. Transfer to Bukit Lawang (approximately 3 hours). Check in to Ecolodge Hotel. Free time to explore the riverside. Dinner included.
 
Day 2
Bukit Lawang Jungle Trek Breakfast. Trek through Leuser National Park, one of the last habitats of the wild Sumatran orangutan. Picnic lunch in the jungle. River tubing along the Bukit Lawang river in the afternoon. Return to hotel. Dinner included.
 
Day 3
Bukit Lawang to Berastagi Breakfast. Check out. Drive to Berastagi through highland Sumatran scenery (approximately 3 to 4 hours). Lunch. Visit Lumbini Shwedagon Pagoda and the Berastagi fruit market. Viewpoint stop at Gundaling Hill. Check in to Grand Mutiara Hotel. Dinner included.
 
Day 4
Mount Sibayak Sunrise Hike Breakfast. Early morning transfer to Mount Sibayak. Hike to the summit (minimum 3 hours round trip). Watch the sunrise over an active volcanic crater. Sulfuric steam vents. Panoramic Sumatran highland views. Descend and soak in the natural hot springs. Lunch at local restaurant. Sikulikap Waterfall visit. Free time. Dinner at local restaurant.
 
Day 5
Berastagi to Samosir Island Breakfast. Check out. Drive to Loken Barn. Visit Sipiso-piso Waterfall. Continue through Sibea Bea Hills and Holbung Hills. Check in to Marianna Resort on Samosir Island. Traditional Batak dance performance dinner (minimum 6 pax required).
 
Day 6
Samosir Island to Medan Breakfast. Check out. Visit Tomok village, traditional Batak roofed houses, ancient stone chair and table court. Ferry across to Parapat. Lunch. Drive through Motung Hills. Arrive Medan. Check in to Adimulia Hotel. Dinner included.
 
Day 7
Medan City Tour and Departure Breakfast. Medan City Tour: Annai Velangkani Church, Maimoon Palace, Grand Mosque, Kesawan Square. Lunch. Transfer to Kualanamu International Airport for departure.
